Report: Russia to create special conditions for foreign companies
MOSCOW, Mar 11 (PRIME) -- Russia uses a pragmatic approach and will create special conditions for the foreign companies that would continue operations in the country, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said in an interview to Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast on Friday.
“We are occupying a very pragmatic position here, we say that this is the position of the president that we will continue creating conditions for development of the (foreign) companies that are honestly fulfilling their obligations to the Russian consumers, to their employees, and to the Russian economy. We will do everything here,” he said.
He met with representatives of 38 foreign companies on March 4 to discuss the situation, and the main questions from them were about readjust production. They want to get access to loans, and lifting of red tape, he said.
Moscow understands that the foreign companies have invested heavily in the country, and suspend operations and new investment under immense pressure. But these decisions have no critical impact on the Russian economy, Reshetnikov said.
